When you hear the word agile, you probably think about its application in the software development world. But for Manulife/John Hancock, agility is critical to all facets of its business.
“We think agile software development is really important, but we don't think it's enough,” said Ryan Fox, Director of Platform Engineering at Manulife/John Hancock. “It's great to move quick with technology, but if you're not reaching out to your customers, and changing the way you build products and build experiences, you're really leaving a lot of the value on the table.”
Fox sits down with Jeff Kelly on the Pivotal Stories stage at SpringOne Platform 2018 to chat about how agility manifests itself throughout Manulife/John Hancock, and how its effects are being felt throughout the company. The two also discuss the concept of product-over-project mindset and its relationship to successful outcomes for customers.
