It’s one thing to implement agile development practices in a single group or even department. It’s quite another to do so across the entirety of a large enterprise with tens of thousands or more employees.
But that’s the challenge facing large enterprises and that’s why Pivotal and Accenture have teamed up to form the Accenture Pivotal Business Group, according to Ryan Johnson, Associate Director at Accenture.
“I think across the Fortune 100, [Pivotal and Accenture] share almost all of those clients. So Pivotal has traditionally done a great job of being that early adopter, driving a lot of XP in cloud-native technologies,” said Johnson, speaking on the Pivotal Stories stage at SpringOne Platform 2018. “Accenture has a lot of scale behind it… So we’re looking at how can we combine those two—early adoption as well as scale—to help some of the very largest clients that we both share.”
Johnson had much more to say about the Pivotal-Accenture relationship, including the work the two companies are jointly performing for clients at Accenture’s Innovation Hub in Columbus, Ohio. Johnson also explains Accenture's “Circle of Control” model, talks about the importance of work-life balance for developers and engineers, and discusses Accenture’s approach to application transformation.
