Recapping FITC Spotlight Android: Building Great Apps on Android

August 20, 2012 Boris Chan

A few weekends ago, Jamie Halpern and I presented at FITC Spotlight: Android to teach new Android developers in the tech community in Toronto their first steps in Android development. Jamie did a great presentation at the event on how to move an iOS app over to Android. We had a great time sharing our experiences at this event.

Here is my presentation on building great apps. I went over the key points that we generally share with building great apps and went into detail about how that translate on Android. Which means explaining fragmentation, reviewing the design guidelines for Holo and tips for how to build in a Pure Android way that includes some backwards compatibility.
