Pivotal to Ring the Bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Oct 29

Pivotal at NYSE

Pivotal and NYSE Euronext are uniting to drive innovation and productivity in the world of Hadoop and Big Data. To kick off this historic technology partnership, Pivotal executives host a casual gathering on Monday, October 28th to share our technology developments and answer any questions. Pivotal executives will also be on-hand to ring the closing bell on the following day, October 29th.

With approximately 8,000 listed issues (excluding European Structured Products) from more than 55 countries, NYSE Euronext’s equities markets—the New York Stock Exchange, NYSE Euronext, NYSE MKT, NYSE Alternext and NYSE Arca—represent one-third of the world’s equities trading and the most liquidity of any global exchange group.

Without previewing any specifics, for anyone in IT, this means one thing—very big data. And with that much money from that many countries at stake, their data needs are global and fast.

For some of us at Pivotal, partnering with NYSE Euronext roots in our VMware heritage, where we helped NYSE Technologies to create the new Capital Markets Community Platform, a secure, cost-effective environment for hosting industry-specific applications in the cloud. Now, with a focus on Hadoop and Big, Fast Data, we are set to help them again.
