Pivotal’s Commitment to Asia Pacific and Japan Region Drives Key Executive Appointments

February 11, 2019 Pivotal Team

SINGAPORE, February 11, 2019 – Pivotal Software, Inc., a leading cloud-native platform provider, has announced three new executive appointments in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region to start the new year.

As more organisations embark on their digital transformation journeys, Pivotal has reaffirmed its commitment to APJ customers with the appointments of Lawrence Crowther as Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO); Jerome Walter as Field Chief Information Security Officer (CISO); and Shaun Norris as the Field Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Previously the Head of Platform Architecture for APJ at Pivotal, Lawrence Crowther has been promoted to Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for APJ. Lawrence is a founding member of the Pivotal Labs office in Sydney, Australia, and boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience in helping organisations bring together the disciplines of CI/CD, extreme programming, platform as a service (PaaS) and cloud-native architectures. In his new role as CTO, he will be responsible for defining the technology vision and strategy for Pivotal’s top customers in the region.

As CISO for APJ, Jerome Walter will advance cloud-native security and modern user-centric development methodologies across Pivotal’s offices in the region. Jerome brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the information security space, working in development, IT operations, security, and risk management roles for small and large organisations. Prior to joining Pivotal, Jerome held senior security roles in Prudential and Natixis where he built and developed security strategies, architectures, and practices in the region.

Meanwhile, Shaun Norris’s role as Pivotal’s CIO for APJ will focus on engaging with customers across the region, helping to align and shape their strategy, and eventually connect that strategy to technology execution. Having led teams in diverse areas such as financial services (JP Morgan Chase and Standard Chartered Bank), security (Verisign and ESET), cloud (Amazon Web Services), and e-commerce startups (lastminute.com), Shaun has amassed significant experience in enabling organisations in their digital transformation journeys.

“In today’s cloud-native environment, organisations require new technologies and software to digitally transform their businesses,” said Lionel Lim, Managing Director and Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Pivotal Software. “We believe that Lawrence, Jerome, and Shaun will be great assets to Pivotal and our customers. With our expanded team and new roles, Pivotal is now in a better position to lend greater support to our customers in multiple areas of their digital transformation efforts, helping them to compete and grow.”

APJ enterprises are facing increased pressure to modernisze their business operations so as to drive innovation, agility, and scalability. Pivotal steps in with its cloud-native software platform, developer tools, and a unique services methodology to enable customers to modernise their development practices and securely operate in a multi-cloud world. Through this approach, Pivotal has been helping enterprises with modern agile development practices, platforms and tools, modern microservices architectures, cloud-native security models, and cultural transformation for user-centric software, and these new executive appointments will assist leading enterprises through these different facets of the transformation.
